As I read this I kept wondering if had been written by someone else. Or if perhaps it was a draft and the publisher moved deadlines up so there was no time for Thomas' usual excellent work. Much of the book is written in the passive voice, greatly taking away from the sense you are experiencing the story. The characters were not clearly developed and their motivations were often never clear. Do not judge Jodi Thomas by this book. She is an excellent author and I highly recommend her other books, historical and contemporary.

This has been one of my favorite books. Two people who felt like they were not worthy of being loved discovered that all it takes is hope, faith, and understanding. I would recommend this book for anyone to read. It seems like everyone in the modern day time has forgotten what this country was built upon.
This story has humor and characters you care about. The supporting characters were interesting but I did get annoyed with the antics of the sister. Overall, the story was a good read and had a happy, satisfying ending.
I like the author and have most of her work.

The first one is as good as the second,third, fourth as many as she has written ....LOL )
Any of her book's or series is just as interesting as the first one you begin reading .
still any excellent reading I would recommend any and all JODI THOMAS Books.

I have read this book many times since it was printed. I feel like I was there in person as Kora and Winter struggle with all the calamities of the ranch life while falling in love and learning to trust in each other. Jodi Thomas is a master story teller and she is so gifted in bringing her characters to life. A great western romance.
Excellent. Winter (a1/2 breed) & Kora. Another wonderful yarn spun by the master spinner, Jodi Thomas. This romance was brought to life. Demonstrates that love can be formed in many ways. You can feel the emotions. There's mystery and adventure blended in plus another romance by secondary characters woven in. This is a must read author. The romance sizzles. Some violence. I'll definitely read this one again some time.
